Excerpt from SONIC FRONTIERS: "Anyone expecting Profanatica part 2 is largely advised to take a hike. While both bands may wallow in black metal's filth-ridden underbelly, Havohej is an even more abstract and perverse descent into the genre's outer limits. Tracks such as "Bloud and Souls" and "Sundowning (Destroie Men and Beasts with Lookes)" would probably come off as standard black metal fare, were they not awash in layers of burbling distortion and noises that sound like they're being transmitted from the depths of a black hole. "Melancholike" is a ten minute decrepit epic of slow, creeping doom and static glitchiness, creating an effect that is both hypnotic and unsettling. "Homerica Medicatio" as well as parts of "Bloud of the Word" are pure ambient soundscapes that come off like a lo-fi version of Lustmord. Ledney leaves no stone unturned in his attempts stretch the boundaries of black metal into new territories of cacophony, and this is what makes Kembatinan Premaster so oddly compelling. With the progressive, quasi-psychedelic turn American black metal has started to take in recent years, it's great to see folks like Ledney pushing things even further out there with a take on BM that is far more heavily indebted to early Merzbow than it is to Norway circa 1994 or Pink Floyd. noise-laden filth in Kembatinan Premaster. Mastermind Paul Ledney (Crowned
in Semen and Profantica) handles all the instruments and effects. Now, at
its core the sound is Black Metal, but this ain't anything like you've heard
before. Noise, ambiance, industrial soundscapes, distortion, feedback, and
other weird and disturbing effects will fill the air the moment you start
spinning this shit. Posers and purebloods alike will be cast aside, as this
type of approach is not meant for the faint of heart. Drums, guitars, and a
maggoty throat all make an appearance, and when they do the approach is
straightforward, but added to the instrumentation is an eclectic array of
weird samples and sounds that may leave many baffled. Minimalism is key
here, as each song drives you deeper and deeper into confusion, until at
last your senses will yearn for substance. There, naked and cold in the
dark, you will experience panic. And is that not the closest experience to
evil that there can be? This one is a like a toothache that never ends. Fuck
those who dare not embrace the pit--losers! This one is only for those who

BIOGRAPHY:
Arisen in New York City, New York in 1993 from the ashes of one of the most influential US Black Metal bands of all time, HAVOHEJ ('Jehovah' in reverse) came forth by Paul Ledney originally as a vessel for continuing the PROFANATICA legacy. Ledney also has credits with INCANTATION and REVENANT.
A 1993 7" single, 'Unholy Darkness And Impurity', saw issue via the suitably titled Desecration Of God Productions.
Erstwhile PROFANATICA and INCANTATION man Brett Makowski performed session guitars on the 1993 'Dethrone The Son Of God' album, a collection of re-worked PROFANATICA tracks, released through Candlelight Records.
Later, HAVOHEJ were to evolve into one of most (if not THE most) original sounding form of pure blackness ever. Follow-ups included 1994 EPs 'Black Perversion', on JCS Records, and 'The Black Mist', released on Ax/ction Records. In 1996 the Grinding Peace label re-issued 'Unholy Darkness And Impurity'.
HAVOHEJ returned in 2000 with the Necroscope single 'Man And Jinn', featuring cover versions of VENOM's 'Leave Me In Hell', IMPALED NAZARENE's 'Goat Perversion' as well an original of their own.
September 29th, 2007 the band made a shocking very first and only performance ever at the "Autumn Equinox V". The month prior the now classic "Dethrone the Son of God" was re-issued on CD by Hells Headbangers Records with re-worked artwork & layout. Nearly 1 year later the long over due vinyl LP and Picture LP was unleashed.
After 7 years of no new recordings from the band, Hells Headbangers Records announced the release of "Tungkat Blood Wand" on November 30th, 2007. This vinyl-only 10" MLP is a unique "reverse groove" record with a special edition of 213 hand-numbered copies pressed on "vomit-reeking" brown vinyl. What followers can expect from "Tungkat Blood Wand" Paul Ledney simply states in an issue of Metal Maniacs: "It takes a lot of work to police the sounds and ideas without changing; everyone wants to grow and expand. It's natural, but Havohej is un-natural, narrow-minded, and the same thing every time. I have broken major ground on the new recording for Hells Headbangers, leaving everyone in the dust at least five years behind. While they play catch up, I'll plan out the full-length."
"Tungkat.." was quickly sold out and followers of the black cult were left starving for more. Ledney delivered with yet another vinyl-only 10" MLP entitled "Hornbook Seytan" in November 2008. Clocking in at over 30 minutes, "Hornbook Seytan" is a more diverse and stripped down primitive variation of the former mini-LP "Tungkat Blood Wand". Special editions include a picture disc (only 100 made), vomit brown vinyl (100 made) and silver vinyl (300 made).
The second full-length album is now complete! Deemed to be the grand master of unholy darkness and black perversion, "Kembatinan Premaster" destroys all past work & is the definite Havohej ritual to be observed by ALL devotees of the genre. Easily the ultimate contender on the bestial black throne of metal to deliver such complete utter fucking darkness so very few can capture. "Kembatinan Premaster" is a single meditation consisting of 8 parts in 37 minutes of total fucking blackness with acclaimed black vocal vomits and signature style profanatic percussion. This is the continuation of the now classic Ledney atrocities committed in 1993 and yet again breaking major ground 16 years later.
